The Third Chinese Picture Book Forum ”The Wondrous Imagination Of Picture Books” is now open for application

In September this year, the third Chinese Picture Book Forum will be held in Shangyu, Zhejiang Province, China. This year, the theme of the forum is The Wondrous Imagination of Picture Books, and we have invited the illustrious Yoshifumi Hasegawa, highly renowned in the world of picture books, from Japan as an honoured guest and keynote speaker. The forum’s content covers in detail how to create a picture book and a child’s perspective, sharing creative experiences, and topics relating to the use and promotion of picture books. Speakers include Lin Jen-Mei, Tang Yaming, many noted scholars and experts from the Greater China region, as well as award-winning authors and illustrators.

CYSFF as the Title Sponsor for Creative Capitalism Forum

Jointly organized by the Future Enterprise Foundation and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Creative Capitalism Forum was held in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University on May 10th, 2010. As the title sponsor, CYSFF joined Chairmen of listed corporations, government officials, leading academics and other non-profit organizations to share perspectives on the sustainable development of enterprises and trends of a socially responsible economy.

CYSFF’s James Chen also participated in the Foundation / NGOs Panel on the topic of social enterprise - how it converges business and philanthropy and its implications on the sectors.

Bring Me A Book Library Installation

In March 2010, Bring Me A Book Hong Kong (BMABHK) installed three bookcase libraries in the community.

With the support of Candice Suen, BMABHK hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony of a new Bookcase Library at the Hong Kong Christian Centre – Lei Cheng Uk Nursery School in Sham Shui Po. Pia Wong, BMABHK’s Executive Director, attended the ceremony and read aloud to the children.

Feng Zikai Award Touring Exhibition Kicks-Off in Taipei

The Feng Zikai Chinese Children’s Picture Book Award recognises the efforts of authors, illustrators and publishers of original, high quality Chinese children’s picture books. Following the Award’s successful inaugural ceremony in July 2009, the Feng Zikai Touring Exhibition was announced

In January 2010, the first stage of the exhibition took place with a ten-day long event in the Eslite Bookstore in Taipei. The short listed and prize winning entries were showcased in an exhibition hall filled with life-size scenes replicated from the prize winning books.

Forums and activities related to children’s books were also hosted during the exhibition.
