Jennifer Chen

Jennifer Chen is Chief Executive of The Chen Yet-Sen Family Foundation, the global foundation which champions initiatives focused on early childhood literacy (ECL) and vision correction. She oversees the literacy projects supported by the foundation, including the Feng Zikai Chinese Children’s Picture Book Award – an international competition which aims to promote the importance of ECL and to encourage the growth of children’s picture books – and The Stone Soup Happy Reading Alliance (SSHRA), which focuses on instilling China’s youth with a love of reading.


Jennifer led all Asia operations for the Clearly campaign, founded by James Chen, a global initiative dedicated to expanding access to glasses worldwide by raising awareness and engaging both the public and global leaders. The campaign helped catalyse the UN’s landmark ‘Vision for Everyone’ resolution in 2021, which set a target for eye care for all by 2030, before being merged with the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), a global advocacy body and membership organisation for the sight sector.

Jennifer also sits on several other nonprofit boards, including the IAPB, Clearly, and Social Impact Partners. Previously, she was a board member of Bring Me a Book Hong Kong, an initiative which provided more than 500 bookcase libraries, provided over 180,000 children with easy access to quality books, and engaged over 30,000 parents and educators in training programmes.
