Kids4Kids/My Story Creation Hong Kong : Celebrating the Creativity of Hong Kong’s Children
The 2026 Kids4Kids My Story Creation awards celebrated the imagination and creative confidence of Hong Kong’s young storytellers, underscoring the importance of literacy and self-expression in helping children find their voice.
For the past decade, The Chen Yet-Sen Family Foundation’s Chief Executive, Jennifer Chen, has served as a judge for My Story Creation, Kids4Kids’ flagship program for primary school students. Through original writing and illustration, the program reflects a core pillar of CYSFF’s work: nurturing a lifelong love of reading while creating meaningful opportunities for children to share their ideas with a wider audience.
My Story Creation gives shortlisted students the opportunity to see their original stories transformed into professionally printed books, helping them build confidence as writers and illustrators while sharing their ideas with a wider audience. The program reflects the power of storytelling to strengthen literacy, encourage self-expression, and inspire a new generation of readers and creators.
Over ten years as a judge, Jennifer has seen thousands of children develop their storytelling skills and bring imaginative ideas to life. What continues to stand out is not only the creativity of the entries, but also the dedication, perseverance, and care that students bring to their work.
Reflecting on her involvement with the program, Jennifer said:
“I am delighted to see the consistent passion, commitment and dedication of the entrants. I have been a judge for the past 10 years and the standard continues to improve with each cohort of entrants. When I see the hope, joy and talent of these young storytellers, I feel the future of Hong Kong is very bright indeed.”
The award ceremony was held at Asia Society Hong Kong on June 20, 2026, with more than 15 schools represented among the shortlisted prize winners. The continued success of My Story Creation underscores the importance of creating opportunities for children to develop literacy, communication skills, and creative confidence.
